Punta Mita Halloween & Day of the dead weekend
As the year comes to an end, we prepare for the festive season and the joy of the celebrations, it is no longer just “October” or “fall,” it’s “spooky season.” And this year Pacifico Beach Club will be hosting a “Halloween Party” by October 31st preserving a tradition originated with in the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain, when people would light bonfires and wear costumes to ward off ghosts… Over time, Halloween evolved into a day of activities like trick-or-treating, carving pumpkins, festive gatherings, donning costumes and eating treats.
But we are not only celebrating the ancient now fun activities of Halloween, but we are also honoring the death of those who has left this world, with our traditional “Día de los Muertos” – a family tradition in México were we place “ofrendas” (offerings) that invite our loved ones to return for the day from the underworld and be with us in spirt to celebrate once more with us and most important to remember them as if they were back in life, one of our most beloved Mexican traditions that starts on November 1st and ends by November 2nd a very unique and sacred tradition from our ancestors, for Mexicans’ it is a day that holds a special place in their hearts.
This year we invite those who has left us in life but will always remain in our hearts to visit us for the night in our Altar at Pacifico Beach Club, we present homage to our dearest members and part of our Punta Mita family!
Fin de semana Punta Mita Halloween y Día de Muertos
A medida que el año llega a su fin, nos preparamos para la temporada festiva y la alegría de las celebraciones, ya no es solo “octubre” u “otoño”, es “temporada espeluznante”. Y este año Club de Playa Pacifico se prepara para una “Fiesta de Halloween” el 31 de octubre preservando una tradición que se originó en el antiguo festival celta de Samhain, cuando la gente encendía hogueras y usaba disfraces para protegerse de los fantasmas … con el tiempo, Halloween evolucionó en un día de actividades como pedir dulces, tallar calabazas, reuniones festivas, ponerse disfraces y comer golosinas.
Pero no solo estamos celebrando las antiguas y divertidas actividades de Halloween, sino que también estamos honrando la muerte de aquellos que han dejado este mundo, con nuestro tradicional “Día de los Muertos”, una tradición familiar en México donde colocamos ofrendas que invitan a nuestros seres queridos a regresar por el día del más allá y estar con nosotros en espíritu y lo más importante para recordarlos como si estuvieran de vuelta en vida, una de nuestras tradiciones mexicanas más queridas que comienza el 1 de noviembre y termina el 2 de noviembre, una tradición muy singular y sagrada de nuestros antepasados, un día muy especial en nuestros corazones.
Este año recordaremos a quienes nos han dejado en vida pero que siempre permanecerán en nuestro corazón rindiéndoles homenaje en nuestro Altar.
