Día de Muertos en Punta Mita
It’s not a day of mourning, but rather celebration and remembrance. Día de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead (celebrated on November 1st and 2nd), is about inviting the souls of the dead back to the world of the living through the placement of altares de muertos or ofrendas. For Mexicans’ it is a day that holds a special place in their hearts.
Since it’s opening nigh Ten Years ago The St Regis Punta Mita has celebrated the Day of the Dead with the employees as Altaristas (altar-makers) and it has now become a tradition at the hotel. This year on November 2nd between 5pm & 6pm the hotel invites Punta Mita Residents to visit their Altars in the motor lobby of the hotel.
At the Kupuri Beach Club the Punta Mita Beach Club employees pay tribute to members of our community who have passed away over the last year with an Altar in the reception while at the Four Seasons you can witness their Altar in the lobby of the hotel.
We invite all our Punta Mita community to visit these Altars as we pay respect to those who have left us in true Mexican tradition
